Posted 12-9-18, Laramie County School District No. 1 (CHEYENNE) — Laramie County School District No. 1 schools will be closed for winter break, Dec. 20–Jan. 1. Schools will return to their regular schedules on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
District offices will be closed Monday, Dec. 24, Tuesday, Dec. 25, Wednesday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 31. Normal hours will be held Thursday, Dec. 27 and Friday, Dec. 28. The district will resume regular hours on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Seventh- through 12th-grade Laramie County School District No. 1 students will have a chance to catch up on school work before the end of semester. Free tutoring sessions will be available during winter break at Central, East and South high schools. Regardless of attendance area, students may attend sessions at any of the schools.
Central High, 5500 Education Drive
The Chief Morning Star Academy will be open from 8–11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 21, Saturday, Dec. 22, Thursday, Dec. 27 and Saturday, Dec. 29. (Lunch is not provided.) Any secondary school student wishing to complete make-up assignments, including tests and/or assessments, is welcome. Certified English, math, science and social studies teachers will be available to assist with specific content areas. Students should enter through the north doors.
East High, 2800 E. Pershing Blvd.
Tutoring will be offered for any secondary student from 8–11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 20, Wednesday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Dec. 27. Sessions will be held in the TBird Academy, Room 347 and Room 409. Students should enter and leave the building through the front doors and are required to bring their own work and textbooks to the sessions. English, math and science tutors will be available. Students may attend to work on any subject.
